How to Find Untapped Opportunities in your Niche
If you’re a SaaS Founder who’s planning to build something in a saturated niche, the best way to do it is by finding untapped opportunities in that niche and filling the gaps.
There are a few ways to do find these untapped opportunities, I will rank them below from hardest to easiest.
Talk to your competitor’s users on social media (Message people who actively engage on your competitor’s social media posts), ask them questions such as What is one thing that you wish (competitor) did better? What frustrations do you have in your current workflow? Try to find improvements for their current workflow and propose your new solution to them and see what they think, if they seem interested you have something to consider.
Go through competitor’s negative reviews and try to find what they are doing wrong and what they are missing.
Use your product or your competitor’s product from a users point of view to do the thing it’s intended to do, While doing this try to actively seek for things that can improved in the workflow or result. You’ll be surprised by how many things you find that can be improved, It’s like the red car theory you only see things you’re looking for.
